The work showcases a mixed breed of two plants (the mimosa pudica and the pitcher plant) that demonstrate contrasting thigmonastic responses, culminating in the creation of the short lived saracennia flower in an environment resistant to diversity.

In this series which was made in response to the war on terror, Mahmood constructs items of jewellery and objects that constitute a bride's dowry in Pakistan. The gems have been replaced with pomegranate seeds and pieces of shrapnel, transforming these symbols of procreation into one of an ill fated dowry laden with tragedy. The mourning bride is a metaphor for the artist's grieving homeland.
